We’re Farmers
On a Mission of Pure Joy

Blessed with 33 acres of fertile land, we saw the perfect opportunity to create a farm that reflects our passion for animals and the rural lifestyle we cherish. With a background in dairy farming, I felt a deep-rooted connection to the agricultural world, and my wife, Leigh, shared my enthusiasm for starting a new journey together. This shared love for nature and animal husbandry led us to establish Pure Joy Farm, a place where we could combine our skills and dreams into a thriving venture.

At Pure Joy Farm, we are committed to ethical farming practices that prioritize the well-being of our animals. Every creature on our farm is raised without the use of hormones or steroids, ensuring natural growth and optimal health. Our goal is to create a farm where animals are treated with care and respect, and where the land is nurtured to support sustainable agriculture for generations to come.

A Journey of Pure Joy

A Journey of Pure Joy

  1. When we first embarked on our farming journey back in 2012, we started with just six cows, a modest beginning that marked the birth of our dream. Over the years, with hard work and dedication, we’ve watched that small herd grow into a thriving operation with 90 head of cattle. This growth has been fueled by our passion for animal husbandry and our commitment to providing the highest quality meat products to our customers. We’ve developed a loyal customer base that appreciates not only the care we put into raising our cattle but also the exceptional quality of the meat that comes from Pure Joy Farms.

As our reputation grew, so did our operations. We expanded our sales channels to include not just direct consumers but also local businesses that value sourcing their products from a trusted, ethical farm. To support this expansion, we invested in essential farm machinery, including a new tractor, which has been vital in maintaining and growing our operations. Our agricultural activities have also expanded beyond cattle farming. We now produce hay, both for sale and for use on the farm, ensuring that our animals are well-fed with the best quality forage. From the humble beginnings of farming just 30 acres, we’ve now grown to manage over 130 acres of land. This expansion is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainable, responsible farming and to the community that supports us. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to nurturing our land, our animals, and our relationships with customers who share our values.

Life at Pure Joy Farm

Farming has a way of keeping us young and active, both physically and mentally. Every day brings new challenges and rewards, from the early morning feedings to the late evening checks on our herd. It's a lifestyle that invigorates us, driven by our love for the animals and the joy we find in sharing that love with others. There's something truly special about being part of the growth and development of our herd, watching calves grow into strong, healthy cattle, and knowing that we're contributing to a cycle of life that sustains our community. We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do this work in the stunning Shenandoah Valley, where the natural beauty of the landscape is a daily reminder of why we chose this path.

We Love Meeting You

Throughout our journey, we've had the pleasure of meeting numerous helpful and wonderful people, from fellow farmers who have shared their wisdom to customers who appreciate the care we put into our products. Being part of a close-knit agricultural community has been one of the most rewarding aspects of our farming life. It's not just about raising cattle or producing high-quality beef; it's about building lasting relationships with those around us. We take great pride in engaging in sustainable and ethical farming practices, ensuring that our animals are treated with the utmost respect and that our land is nurtured for future generations. The tranquility and peace of farm life are unmatched, offering a sense of fulfillment that is hard to find elsewhere. Yet, we are always learning, always striving to improve our techniques, because farming is as much about growth and adaptation as it is about tradition. Each day on the farm is a new opportunity to deepen our connection to the land, the animals, and the community we serve.
